Mothers Day is May 8th and only a few weeks away. I will always cherish time spent in the kitchen cooking and baking with my mom. She is a phenomenal cook and an even better baker. My favorite memory is getting to lick the cookie dough off the beater when she was making chocolate chip cookies. To this day I still do that when I bake because cookie dough is just oh so good!
I completely understand baking is a skill that some of us possess while others lack the time and patience. I, a lover of baking and baked goods, sometimes don’t feel like making a mess in the kitchen. But who doesn’t think a homemade dessert tastes so much better than anything store-bought?!? Thankfully for all of us The Mason Jar Cookie Company makes and sells these adorable mason jars filled with the ingredients to make cookies, brownies, pancakes, and more. All the ingredients come beautifully layered in a mason jar. All you have to do is add fresh dairy such as an egg and butter. So even the not so talented baker can even whip up these yummy goodies.
I had the privilege to try The Mason Jar Cookie Company’s Mother’s Day I Love Mom Cookie Mix. They are cookies mixed with red, white, and pink candy coated and chocolate and heart sprinkles, a limited edition for Mothers Day. These cookies were incredibly easy to make and tasted delicious. Because my husband and I both have a sweet tooth, they only lasted a few days in our house.
The baking directions come on the Mason Jar tag. All I had to add to the dry mix in the mason jar was melted butter and an egg, so easy!
The directions even said to mix the dough with your clean hands, so I didn’t even use my stand mixer and the dough came together nicely.
Then I measured a heaping teaspoon of cookie dough onto a cookie sheet, after I taste tested of course 😉 I got these extra large cookie sheets as a wedding shower gift a few years ago when we got married. I love that I can fit about 15 cookies on one sheet.
They baked for 12 minutes, then I pulled them out of the oven to cool.
I personally like my cookies room temperature so I waited a bit until I tried one. They were delicious, sweet, with the perfect amount of crunch and softness. Plus I am also slightly obsessed with sprinkles and love them in any dessert.
