Happy Friday my friends! Is everyone staying cool in this crazy heat and humidity? It’s been 90’s and super humid near DC these last few days so I’ve been trying to cool off by going to the pool and staying in the AC. This weekend we have another wedding and I will be packing and preparing for my trip to California on Monday to visit my little sister! I’m beyond excited! Be sure to follow all of my adventures in LA on my Instagram.
Today I wanted to bring you a different edition to Friday Favorites and share some of my latest fitness finds. I know many of you are on or preparing for vacations during the summer so I thought it would be nice to collect some of my favorite workouts along with great fitness gear and music.
And thanks to Heather for today’s Friday Favorites link up!
Strength and Plyometric Leg Workout by PB Fingers
Lately I have been loving combining plyo and strength training exercises when working my lower body. While doing this workout I hold 10 pound dumbbells for each leg exercise and drop the weights for the plyo exercises.
These Are the Moves For Insanely Cut Abs by Popsugar Fitness
I’m always looking for new ab exercises. I recently came across this article and have been trying to incorporate a few of these moves into my workouts. I find that I prefer spending about 10-15 minutes on abs at the end of my workout. I typically pick about 5 moves and do 3 rounds of each exercise for 45 seconds, with a small rest in between each exercise. My abs are on FIRE by the end.
Rise and Shine 20-minute Treadmill Interval Workout by A Lady Goes West
I try to do a treadmill interval workout at least once a week. When you’re constantly changing the speed on the treadmill it makes the time go by super fast. And I’ve been trying to use the incline more, so this workout is perfect for getting my legs used to running uphill.
Total Body Kettlebell Workout by Skinny Mom
I have been talking about it for months and have yet to purchase a few kettlebells, uh. But when I finally do, this is the first workout I’m going to complete!
Small Space Apartment Workout by Life in Leggings
Back when I used to live on the third floor of a small apartment I was always so nervous to jump around or workout in my living room. I know many of you have this problem as well, so here’s a perfect quit, no equipment workout.
Quick Upper Body and Core Workout by Pumps and Iron
I haven’t done this routine in awhile, but it’s one of favorites and my arms and abs and pretty challenging.
Flashback to my Quick and Sweaty Total Body Workout
I still do this workout often and I love that it involves no equipment and you work your entire body. It’s perfect if you’re traveling somewhere this summer where you won’t have any access to a gym.
Even though it’s summer I still prefer to workout in crop capris, I recently got a pair of Lululemon crops that have little side and back pockets, which are GREAT for running. I could carry my id, card, or keys with me. I’ve also started to invest in some good sports bras and tanks. Having quality workout clothes makes such a big difference!

I am always looking for new tunes to play while working out. My husband recently told me about the FitRadio app. They have music for all different types of workouts. I love it because it doesn’t play an entire song, it plays parts of DJ remixes. I never get bored when listening to FitRadio. After signing up you get a free 30 day trial, then after that you could pay for premium access but they also have a free radio with various music. I have been really enjoying the free radio, so I feel no need to update. But another cool feature of premium is you can play radios with certain BPM’s, this is neat if you want something more upbeat during your workout and something a bit slower during your cool down. Check it out and let me know what you think!
What type of music do you like to listen to while working out?
