Can you believe Wednesday is the first day of Winter?!?  It feels like we were just enjoying everything pumpkin on the first day of Fall.  HELLO and Happy FRIDAY!  This is the last full weekend before Christmas and lets see I still need to buy presents, wrap presents, bake holiday cookies, pack for our trip up north, oh the list goes on.  But ‘Tis the Season, I wouldn’t have it any other way.  Today for Friday Favorites I am sharing some of my personal Winter and Holiday favorites and essentials in food, fitness, and around the web.

Love Your Melon Beanie

With highs in the 20’s or teens I refuse to step out of the house without something on my head.  Loving this beanie from Love Your Melon.  And the fact that the proceeds go to give a hat to a child with cancer and to find a cure.  After you buy one for yourself, be sure to gift one as well.

25 Family Holiday Activities

One of my favorite things to do around the holidays is spend quality time with family and friends.  I love this 25 Days of Family Activities, from crafts, to baking, to volunteering.  It’s a great guide to bring your family together and get in the Holiday Spirit. This weekend my husband and I plan to watch a Holiday movie (Home Alone and Elf are our favorites), bake cookies, and wrap gifts together.  Did you see last week’s round up of all my favorite holiday dessert recipes?  I can’t wait to start baking some of them tomorrow evening.

Dark Chocolate and Mint Nestle Baking Chips

Some of my favorite winter sweet combinations are white chocolate and cranberry, peppermint and mocha, and dark chocolate and mint.  Which is why I love these baking chips.  I use them in this Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe for a little holiday twist on the classic CC cookie.

Food & Wine

Enhance your dining experience and holiday meals with this Food & Wine Guide from The Daffodil.  Some of my personal favorite pairings are goat cheese with Pinot Noir for an appetizer and beef and Cabernet Sauvignon for our Prime Rib Christmas dinner.

Hot Chocolate

Has anyone tried the new Snickerdoodle hot chocolate from Starbucks?  I’ve only had the Skinny Peppermint Mocha so far this season but when I do try the hot chocolate I’m doing half Snickerdoodle hot chocolate/half coffee and asking for it to be made with almond milk, YUM!  Also can’t wait to try this protein hot chocolate recipe or this crockpot recipe.

Netflix Watchlist

Once football season ends and life returns to being somewhat normal, we always get into Netflix Series on the weekends.  What’s better than some wine, popcorn, and a cozy night-in watching some of your favorite movies or shows?!?   Use Luma to create a fast, secure, and surround Wi-Fi network for your home .  That way you can stream your favorite shows and others can easily be on their devices all at the same time.  Below is my Winter Must Watch List.  Might I suggest pairing your Watch List with some Boom Chicka Pop Popcorn and Holiday or S’mores Puppy Chow because every good TV Binge needs a quality snack 😉

I’m literally on the website now buying beanie gifts. My dad had cancer, so this cause is near and dear to my heart.

Favorite pairing… sparkling and cheese/charcuterie. Or a huge red wine with chocolate.

Love the idea behind Love your Melon. And oh I haven’t had sparkling wine with cheese in awhile, need to do that for New Years!

The dark chocolate/mint chips are a staple in our house, they take regular chocolate chip cookies to the next, greatest level 😉
I’m currently on season 6 of Pretty Little Liars on Netflix and I’m 100% obsessed with this show!!
