I am always excited to try new workouts, classes, or fitness equipment. I think they add excitement and variety to any workout. Which is why I was thrilled to partner with Hedstrom Fitness to create a workout using their new Kamagon Ball.
The Kamagon Ball
The Kamagon Ball is the first product for functional, focused, fitness. Most exercises target specific muscles groups and don’t teach the body to use the core. The Kamagon Ball not only trains your muscles but it also teachers you how to use your body in an effective, efficient manner. The Ball is a destabilized weight that uses Hydro-Inertia to create more effective workouts.
What is Hydro-Inertia?
Hydro-Inertia is the use of water to create unstable resistance to maximize core strength. While doing exercises moving the Kamagon Ball you will need to keep your core embraced in order to stabilize your body. It truly takes some getting used to at first and is a very popular new method of training amongst fitness professionals and athletes.
Once you have a Kamagon Ball, fill it with water, and give these five moves a try with your new fitness tool. Try to do 12-15 repetitions of each exercise for 3-4 rounds.
Squat to Overhead press: From standing hold the Kamagon Ball at your chest and bend your knees to squat, keeping the weight in your heels. When you rise lift your arms and the Ball above your head.
Reverse Lunge with Oblique Twist: Step back into a reverse lunge and as you do rotate your torso and the Ball to the same side of the foot you stepped back with. Repeat on the other side.
Standing Row: From standing bend at your hips holding the Ball in each hand, keep your elbows close to your side and row the ball into your belly as you squeeze your upper back.
V-up: Lay down with the Ball in both hands overhead. Bring the Ball into your chest as you lift your shoulders, back, and legs to shape the letter ‘V’.
Bicep Curl: Hold the Ball standing with both hands, keep the elbows close into the body as you flex your elbows, then extend back down.
