Only a few days left until Valentines Day. Have you planned anything for you and your someone special? Is that fancy new Hamilton automatic watch on its way? Have you been hinting about that one gift set you’ve wanted for ages? Are you about to take the next step in commitment with a set of his and her promise rings? What about if you’re jokers and wanted to get your other half something that fits your personalities in the form of something like a photo boxer?
Or maybe you’re single and hoping to meet new people or focus on some self love. Regardless of who you might be celebrating with, since the actual day falls on a Tuesday I know many of you will be celebrating this weekend. So for today’s Friday Favorites I’m sharing a few Valentines Day Favorites. I’m not into gifts on Valentines Day. I’ll maybe do something cheesy for my husband, but rather we like to focus on using the holiday to spend quality time together.
Go out to dinner, many restaurants have special Valentines day promotional menus. Last year we dined at Red Oak Bistro and had charcuterie, oysters, steak, crab, and dessert all for a fixed price.
Take a fitness class together. Many gyms and studios are offering deals for singles or couples. Couples can take a class together while singles can meet someone new! Oh and I love that Flywheel Sports is also doing a ‘Break-up Ride’ if that’s happened to you recently…..
Volunteer. Spend the weekend of love spreading it to others that are less fortunate than you.
Visit a Museum or Aquarium. We’re lucky and live close to DC where there are so many museums you could be entertained for hours.
Play Board Games. This could be something fun that you and your partner can do instead of going out like other date nights you may have had. Whether it’s a game from your childhood or something challenging like an in the box escape room, there’s so much to choose from!
Cook a Delivery Service Meal Together. These meals are often something unique you might not typically make yourself. Check out my reviews of Blue Apron and Hello Fresh.
Wine Tasting. Whether you’re into wine or not, most vineyards are so romantic. And if the weather is nice you can usually pack some snacks and have a picnic outside.
Go Bowling. Seriously, when was the last time you’ve done that?
Ice or Roller Skating. One of the episodes of this seasons The Bachelor reminded me how romantic roller skating can be, hello couples skate!
Grab a Coffee. Sit at a local shop and chat.
Dinner at Home Ideas
We will be cooking at home this year. I haven’t decided on a menu, but I’m thinking steak, crab cakes, potatoes, and asparagus. Here is some great recipe insp:
Surf and Turf for Two
Lobster Risotto I love risotto as a date night dish, it’s super easy and makes you feel a little fancy.
Whole 30 Chicken Piccata
Cranberry Balsamic Roasted Chicken
Crispy Cheesy Potato Stacks
Brussels Sprout Gratin
Chocolate Lovers Cheesecake
Pink Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting
Chocolate Lava Cakes
Healthy Sugar Cookie Cut Outs
Red Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting
Oh I could go on and on listing ideas for ya’ll, but I’ll stop here because I want to hear all about your weekend plans!
