Happy Friday Friends! It was one of those weeks that I can’t believe it’s almost time for the weekend, yet it felt entirely too long. I blame it on having the holiday off last week. Anyway I’m happy we made it here to Friday. I have no definite plans for the weekend. Hoping to go to Bodypump and continue practicing for my Instructor certification and get in a long run as I’m training for the 10 mile Cherry Blossom Run in April. Follow along with all the fun on Instagram.
After gathering photos of todays Friday Favorites I realized they were all mostly about food, so sorry if this post makes you hungry, hehe. Here are some of the healthy breakfast food items, snacks, drinks, recipes, and things around the web I’ve been loving lately.
pH10 Essence Water
I have always been one to drink lots of water throughout the day. But I really never knew that there were certain waters that had added health benefits such as pH10 Essence Water. And the best part is it just tastes like normal water. I received some pH10 Essence Water bottles to try and have been sticking them in the fridge over night and then carrying them to the gym or a fitness class with me on the weekends. I love the size of the bottles I was provided since I could easily drink a regular sized bottle of water during one sitting. These last me much longer.
The water tastes fresh and has added benefits such as restoring your body to its natural pH balance, detoxifying the body, and providing antioxidants and minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, and zinc. It’s recommended you drink pH10 Essence Water throughout the day, especially before and after a workout and/or meals for optimal benefits.
I sipped on a bottle before and after a sweaty yoga session and a walk around the city recently.
Sweethome Farm Granola
I usually enjoy some granola a few times a week either with vanilla yogurt or a smoothie bowl. I love how granola is packed with oats and nuts which helps keep me full throughout a busy day. Recently I received these Honey Nut and Maple Pecan granolas from Sweethome Farm and having been loving both flavors. The Honey Nut kind of reminds me of a Honey Bunches of Oats, which I used to dominate as a kid. The granola being a healthier option as it has fiber, protein, whole grains, and is made from clean ingredients. And the Maple Pecan is made with real maple syrup it almost tastes like a sweet treat, but only has 7 grams of sugar per serving.
The other night I made healthy banana split with a sliced banana, vanilla yogurt, topped with strawberries, Honey Nut granola, and drizzled with almond butter. It was a delicious healthy dessert Tom and I shared.
Larabar Lemon Flavor
I was so excited to see the Lemon Larabar flavor in my local Giant food store. I usually shop at Safeway, but stopped at Giant randomly one day and browsed the organic section. I have a serious obsession with lemons and this bar did not disappoint. Post photo I actually added it to a Vanilla Siggi’s yogurt which was a delicious combo!
When I received this Blueberry Walnut cereal from Peace Cereal I started thinking, probably the last time I bought cereal for myself was in college, almost 7 years ago! So it brought me back to a typically college student breakfast I had daily: yogurt, cereal, almonds, dried fruit, and a fresh sliced banana all mixed together. I’m realizing now I was all about the yogurt bowls well before they became popular on social media. Yogurt and cereal is such a delicious combo and totally overshadowed by yogurt and granola, you just need to try both and let me know which you prefer! I loved the oat clusters and dried blueberries in this cereal and that it is made from real ingredients and packs 5 grams of fiber and protein per serving. And lets be real, how often do you actually sit down and eat ONE single serving of cereal?!?
With all these favorites you’ll be hydrated, relieved of toxins, have healthy snacks, and delicious breakfast or desserts to help keep you full =)
On Sweet and Strong
Congrats to Samantha for winning the Premire Protein bars and shakes giveaway.
In case you missed it I posted a recipe for a Chocolate ‘Caramel’ Protein Fudge made with Naked Whey. These are so rich and cream and surprisingly made with only 5 clean ingredients.
I recently updated two of my recipes posted a few months back. I would appreciate your love in pinning to Pinterest or sharing:
These Turkey Taco Sloppy Joe’s got a new photo shoot and new pinable image. A Taco Tuesday favorite in our house.
And my favorite Classic Vanilla Cupcake recipe with Buttercream frosting got a new pinable image. I could literally eat an entire bowl of this frosting by itself. A must try recipe for first time bakers or for a simple delicious dessert for social gatherings.
Around the Web
I am one of the few lucky people in the world who loves to eat vegetables and get in a good sweat session. But I know many of you out there struggle with finding the motivation to establish a fitness routine which is why I loved and wanted to share this article Ashley posted: What you should know if you don’t love fitness and what you can do about it.
Now one reason I like to workout is because I like to bake and eat sweets. This month Sally’s Baking Challenge is a Chocolate Mouse Pie I cannot wait to make! Thinking this will pair perfectly with a St. Patrick’s Day meal in a few weeks.
Michelle Obama’s Worktout Routine. I knew Mrs. Obama took private Soul Cycle classes in DC when she was the first lady and this week she was spotted at a PUBLIC class! This years goal is to run into her at one.
Lastly DC, we’re finally getting Poke Bowls! My sister and I have been searching for a place that serves this Hawaiian specialty and we are so excited to hear about Poke Papa opening up in March. All my Friday Food and Fitness Favorites @Peacecereal @essencewater @Sweethomefarms Click To Tweet
