Hello friends and welcome to the blog on this lovely Friday. Did you have a good 4th of July celebration and hopefully a short work week? Even if it was short I’m sure you’re ready for the weekend. Not too much on our weekend agenda, probably some good workouts and maybe meals at home as we have been out to eat a bit already during the week. Follow along on Instagram. But for now let’s get to all the things I’ve been loving lately including our 4th celebration, Vital Proteins, new snacks, and other Friday Favorites.

We usually aren’t in town during the 4th of July weekend, but since we stayed home this year we decided to check out some of the local celebrations. During the day Tom and I just hung out by the community pool reading and dipping in to cool off. Then in the early evening we headed over to the Charles County Fairgrounds where they would later be putting on a fireworks display. We decided to eat there and people watch until the show. We ate at The Crabby Hog food truck which has crab cakes and BBQ. Their famous sandwich is a crab cake with BBQ pulled pork and slaw on it. I of course had to try the specialty and it did not disappoint! Ever since moving to southern MD I’ve been obsessed with crab cakes and BBQ and this was some of the best.
Then we HAD to get some ice cream as we sat and waited for the Fireworks show. I’m typically a soft serve lover, but lately really been loving the local creameries hand dipped ice cream. So much better than anything you buy in the store! And overall a great way to spend the holiday.
Vital Proteins was kind enough to send me a few products to try for myself. Vital Proteins is know for their Collagen Peptides and have since come out with several new collagen products. Collagen has been known to help clear skin and hair and nail growth. It’s also packed with protein and probiotics for gut health. Last time my sister visited she left me with a bottle of Micellar Cleansing Water. While I’m still a huge fan of my Rodan + Fields Regimen I have been using the Simple Micellar Cleansing Water to get rid of my make up at night. I like the idea of knowing I go to bed each night with a completely clear face as micellar water is known for gently lifting make up and impurities in your skin out and boosting its hydration.
Biena Chickpea Snacks
I won an Instagram giveaway and was sent all different flavors of Biena Roasted Chickpea Snacks. I love adding these to charcuterie boards, salads, or just eating by themselves when craving a crunchy snack. I haven’t tried all the flavors yet, but usually I’m a fan of just plain sea salt, boring I know.
