Hi friends! Today is my last day of vacation in LA, have you been following along on Instagram? It has been a crazy week of events and traveling. To recap I flew from Baltimore to Las Vegas for the Idea World Blogfest Convention for three days. I learned about blogging, took awesome new workouts, and did a few instructor trainings. Then from Vegas I flew to LA to spend some time with my little sister. We have stayed busy doing all things fitness, eating delicious food, and spending time together. I will have a full recap of my LA visit later next week but wanted to share a What I Ate Wednesday of a day at the convention.
Our sponsors did an amazing job putting on beautiful breakfast and snack spreads for us each day. The first day was a Siggi’s yogurt bowl with berries, toasted almonds and chia seeds. The next day I had a Strawberry Good Culture Cottage Cheese with berries, Purely Elizabeth Granola, and sliced almonds. I am already a huge fan of Siggi’s but had never tasted Good Culture before. It was delicious, I forgot how much I love cottage cheese. And if you’re craving something savory I highly highly suggest their Olive flavor, sounds weird, but it was so good.
I was lucky last year after attending Blogfest I made some new friends and had the opportunity to catch up with them again this year and spend time together. Follow @howharditri, @apunchofleopard, and @chocolaterunnergirl. We spent both days of the conference just walking though the expo during our lunch time so we snacked on all our favorite bars and tried a few new products. The RX Bars, Perfect Bars, and homemade energy balls with California Figs were all my favs. And all washed down with a La Croix, how cute was their booth set up!
One night for dinner we ventured out of our hotel and checked out The Cosmopolitan. It’s a beautiful hotel and casino with a large hanging chandelier in the middle of the bar. We started the night with a drink, played at the latest online casinos, and then I had the Verbena cocktail, which is a ginger margarita with a Szechuan button, an edible flower. Eating the flower alters your tastes buds of the drink and gives you a tingly sensation in your mouth. The drink was delicious, and I thought the whole experience was so fun, worth the $16 price. While drinking, my friends gave me a few insights on online casinos, how there are few Featured casinos that accept CAD, their online rules, and much more. My friends are seasoned bettors who are familiar with different online gambling games and the insider stories of the firms that offer such games. As an example, they told me about the Skycity online casino. While conversing, they gave seemed to talk in detail about skycity annual report, the profits made by the company, and the benefits of playing on their website. I was amazed and at the same time a bit of confusion about whether I will remember all this. Fingers crossed! (hopefully, I will remember everything later!)
Even if I don’t, I can always refer to the online resources or the website itself as most of them have their rules listed pretty well. Moreover, when you could make some side income from the taps of your fingers, why leave the chance! If you are already eager to try your hands on gambling, you could try your chance at platforms like OXI Casino.
For dinner we were starving for real food and had burgers and fries on our mind. So we dined at Holsteins inside the Cosmopolitan Hotel. I had the California turkey burger, in a lettuce wrap with sweet potato fries. The protein and carbs were much needed after a busy day of sessions and working out.
Then our waiter was kind enough to offer us complimentary desserts because of our visit. We picked the Cookies n’ Cream and Fat Boy boozy milkshakes, ice cream with alcohol, yes please! Seriously in sweet tooth heaven. I wished I saved more room because I could only handle a few bites. But they were amazing and so fun to share with the girls.
That’s a wrap for all the foodie highlights of my Vegas trip. I would love to go back to Vegas again actually see a few shows, spend some time by the pool, and see more of the strip. This was such a quick and educational visit. Have a great rest of your week!

Have you ever been to Vegas?
What do you typically eat when attending conferences?
Would you try a boozy milkshake?

July 26, 2017 at 3:56 pm (6 years ago)I saw the title of this and my first thought was how did we miss meeting each other????? My second thought was I wonder if it was a shitshow like my eating! I always have a hard time at food and fitness conferences where food is available 24/7 and it’s all new and exciting, but whatever it’s one weekend right!?!?
