Hello to you today! Happy Wednesday. By the end of the week, occasionally I have a really difficult time thinking of a good workout and also feeling motivated. Two things I know for sure, I’m more likely to do the workout if it’s already planned and intervals are my best friend. That’s why I love this Treadmill Incline Workout, it’s already written out and the intervals make the time go by fast.

I was inspired to write this workout after two trips to Barry’s Bootcamp while out in Los Angeles. And Barry’s is soon coming to DC! YAY! Every time we attending class, the treadmill workout was always different, but I loved the intervals and using the incline. Now in a traditional Barry’s workout you would spend some time on the treadmill and on the floor doing exercises. But I just wanted to focus today on the cardio portion. Read below for a short description of each block I included in the workout.
You will start the workout by warming up with a light jog or walk on the treadmill.
Then you’re ready for the intervals, complete block 1. I wrote suggested speeds, but do whatever works for you. You increase speed the entire time throughout the block which is what makes it so tough! For the first block I keep the incline low at 1.0 to represent actual running on pavement.
When you’re finished with block 1 you’ll complete block 2. In block 2 you start moving the incline up more and are still changing speeds. Repeat both blocks two to three more times for a great cardio and HITT workout.
Some people are cardio lovers, others prefer strength training, I like to think I enjoy a mix of both, it really depends on my mood. But I always think interval workouts on the treadmill go by SO incredibly fast. And I hope this workout does for you too!
