Hello to you today!  Happy Wednesday.  By the end of the week, occasionally I have a really difficult time thinking of a good workout and also feeling motivated.  Two things I know for sure, I’m more likely to do the workout if it’s already planned and intervals are my best friend.  That’s why I love this Treadmill Incline Workout, it’s already written out and the intervals make the time go by fast.

Be sure to check the end of the post to find out how you could win a Takeya Bottle.

I was inspired to write this workout after two trips to Barry’s Bootcamp while out in Los Angeles.  And Barry’s is soon coming to DC!  YAY!  Every time we attending class, the treadmill workout was always different, but I loved the intervals and using the incline.  Now in a traditional Barry’s workout you would spend some time on the treadmill and on the floor doing exercises.  But I just wanted to focus today on the cardio portion.  Read below for a short description of each block I included in the workout.

Treadmill Incline Workout. Change speeds and the incline on the treadmill for a great cardio and HITT workout.

You will start the workout by warming up with a light jog or walk on the treadmill.

Then you’re ready for the intervals, complete block 1.  I wrote suggested speeds, but do whatever works for you.  You increase speed the entire time throughout the block which is what makes it so tough!  For the first block I keep the incline low at 1.0 to represent actual running on pavement.

When you’re finished with block 1 you’ll complete block 2.  In block 2 you start moving the incline up more and are still changing speeds.  Repeat both blocks two to three more times for a great cardio and HITT workout.

Some people are cardio lovers, others prefer strength training, I like to think I enjoy a mix of both, it really depends on my mood.  But I always think interval workouts on the treadmill go by SO incredibly fast.  And I hope this workout does for you too!

Takeya Giveaway

You should never complete a treadmill or any workout without some water to rehydrate nearby.  At Blogfest this year we received a Takeya 24 ounce insulated stainless steel bottle.  Not only do I love the color, It also keeps water or any beverage super cold for hours!  Like I’m talking I put three ice cubes in my water at night and in the morning they’re still there, amazing!

Takeya Insulated Bottle

The insulated bottle keeps drinks cold for up to 24 hours and hot up to 12.  I also love the rubber bumper on the bottom to prevent dents and dings, and it can be quietly set down.  The spout lid allows you to sip or pour your beverage without removing the entire lid or getting it all over yourself like I used to do with other water bottles.

My friends at Takeya have offered to giveaway one of their 24 ounce bottles in your CHOICE of COLOR.  All you have to do is:

I’ll choose and notify a winner on Monday September 4th.  Must live in the US to enter.

Good Luck!

Definitely going to save this workout to do!! I’m with you – if I have a planned workout I have a lot less trouble doing it than if I just go to the gym with nothing in mind.

I don’t usually move the incline on the treadmill – I keep it at 0.5. But I should do some more hills…

And I follow both you and Takeya on Instagram!! I hope I win 😉

At least you keep it at 0.5, for years I’ve never really moved it much. Then when I went to different classes with treadmill components they were always so challenging. And thanks for following, good luck in the giveaway!

I love running outside, but sometimes treadmill workouts help make the time go by so fast and I love playing with the speeds and incline.

We had inclines at orange theory yesterday, I hate and love them. Hills confuse my body, in AZ it’s FLAT everywhere, so my body is like what the heck? Such a good workout!

It’s definitely a love/hate relationship with hills. Do you like you’re takeya bottle we got at blog fest? I’m obsessed with mine and want a larger one and a coffee tumbler!

hahah. I get a snap chat of my friend trying to die on the treadmill last night and she was doing this workout!! People underestimate the incline!! And I had to laugh at one of the comments above! Delaware is FLAT. And before Delaware? I spent 10 years in the Great Plains of Oklahoma. So Maryland (yes, Maryland) has been hilly for me. And my body is like what the world! haha.

Haha, inclines seriously are NO joke! I can’t believe I spend years running on the treadmill without changing it. We had a lot of hills where I went to college in Ohio, but I only ever really walked them. Running is a different story for sure.

This Takeya bottle is the best I’ve come across. I like it better than my Swell bottle because it’s easier to sip and has a bumper at the bottom so it sets down gently.

I’ve been LOVING my Takeya bottle from Blogfest! I like my water super cold, and this bottle does an awesome job of keeping it ice cold. Case in point: I had it in my car last weekend when it was 90 degrees out while I went for a 2 hour hike.. Got back in my car, and the water was ice cold still. I flew to the east coast yesterday and even brought my Takeya bottle with me, so yea, it’s safe to say that I’ve become a big fan 🙂

YES I feel the same. I love my water super super cold and used to get so annoyed when I would put ice in and it would still melt and get warm. I really need a bigger one though because I try to drink a ton during the day. Glad we’re both getting good use out of it! Be careful in those hot temps, yikes!
