Hi there!  Hope you had a great weekend.  Mine was a great mix of fun and relaxation, but as always I’m not ready for it to be over.  Thanksgiving Break can’t come soon enough!  Here are all the workouts, Fall meals, and other Weekend Highlights.

Friday night was a great conference win for Tom’s Football team.  I got home from the game, warmed up with a warm cup of tea and headed to bed because I was teaching BodyPump in the morning.  So Saturday I was up early because myself and three other instructors at my local gym launched BodyPump 103.  We had a Halloween theme and dressed as the four seasons, I was spring.

I taught shoulders, abs, and cool down.  I LOVE this releases shoulders track, even though shoulders are usually the most difficult for me.  And my legs are definitely feeling all the pulses from the squat and lunge tracks.  Any BodyPumpers have thoughts on the new release?

Then it was home to shower up, drink a smoothie with vanilla protein, collagen peptides, half an apple, almond butter, and cinnamon, very Fall like combo.  I did some chores around the house, ate some eggs and my Roasted Butternuts Squash Pasta Salad while I made a grocery list and headed out for a few errands.

Banza Pasta

I got home in time to do some meal prep while watching the Ohio State vs. Penn State Game.  During the game Tom smoked chicken thighs and I worked on the sides of roasted brussels sprouts and potatoes.  We snacked on a charcuterie board while watching the game.  And YES Go Buckeyes!

Roasted Vegetables

Then for dessert I made these Apple Cider Spiced Donut Holes in a mini muffin pan.  They were delicious and the perfect Fall dessert.

Sunday morning we had a much needed sleep in and then lounged around for a bit before I headed into Virginia to attend a Breast Cancer Research Donation CylceBar ride by Sweat Pink.  I had never been to CycleBar, but war really impressed with the cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere of the studio.  There are many different studio locations across the US.  It was a great workout and for a cause that’s very meaningful to me and my sister who joined me for the ride.

Post workout we decided on something healthy so hit up Sweetgreen.  I had the OMG Omega and added their spicy broccoli and mushrooms, because both are my favs!

When I got back to Southern MD I out our lunches for the week.  Thanks to making lots of chicken, potatoes, and veggies on Saturday it was pretty easy to prep some healthy meals.

Then it was a mix of football and This Is Us on TV while eating doughnuts before the weekend was over.

Sounds like a fun weekend! I used to do Bodypump all the time and miss it. We took the kiddos to a Halloween carnival over the weekend, which was lots of fun.

It was definitely a fun class. I never used to like spin until classes like that. Let me know if you give it a try.

The new This is Us season is so good!!! And huh, that pasta + runny egg combo sounds oddly delicious.
Right at this very moment, I think I have to go with the classic pie as my fall dessert. Ask me tomorrow and that’ll probably change.

Yes SUCH a good game! And love a good spin class, which is crazy because two years ago I would never get on a spin bike. Crazy what lights, good music, and good instructors can do!

They were so easy and delicious! Homemade donut holes are 1000 times better than anything bought from the store. Let me know how they turn out. Have a great week Kayla.

GAH I love Sweet Green SO MUCH. It is so conveniently placed OUT of the way on the other side of the city (actually only 3 miles but traffic is insane) so that I don’t go all the time! My favorite fall dessert is definitely the variety of breads! I love banana and cranberry bread!

I guess that’s kind of a good thing I live outside of the city or I would want to go EVERY day, why are salads so much better when someone else makes them? Oh yes love breads this time of year! And they can breakfast or dessert 😉
