Hello Friends!  Hope you had a great weekend.  Things were pretty typical around here.  The weekend included some good workouts, delicious food, and watching lots of football.  Lets get to all the Weekend Highlights.

Friday night was the last regular season football game for Tom’s team.  They won and will play this Friday at home in the first round of the playoffs.  Hoping for Tom’s first playoff win as head coach, plus more in the weeks to come!

Saturday morning I was up early, drank some coffee with Vital Proteins new Collagen Creamers and ate half a banana with some almond butter before driving to meet my sister in the city.

We made plans to do a Flywheel class together then get lunch after.  My favorite way to spend a Saturday morning 🙂

Flywheel Sports City Center DC

I finished in 10th place on the Torq Board during the last 30 seconds of the class, I hadn’t been on the board at all throughout the class.  (No Idea what that is, Read My Flywheel Class Review Here) But phew pushing it that last little bit really wore me out.

After showering and shopping around a bit we headed to Poke Papa for lunch.  Granted it’s the only Poke I’ve had in the city, I’m assuming it must be the BEST.  Did you see my Instagram Stories with all the topping choices!  I had Tuna and Salmon with half forbidden rice half mixed greens with lots of delicious toppings.

After lunch we walked back to her place and I grabbed a pour over coffee from La Colombe since it was still pretty chilly out and I needed something to warm me up.

Once I was back in southern MD I headed straight to the grocery store to pick up everything for the week ahead.  It’s a ‘clean out the fridge and freezer’ kind of week so we didn’t need a whole lot.

It started raining late Saturday afternoon so Tom and I decided to stay in, make pizza, and watch some college football.  We made a large pizza with Italian sausage, green pepper, onion, and mushrooms.

Pizza Night

And then we dominated this Halo Top Candy Bar pint for dessert.  It was my first time trying this flavor, it was good but definitely not my favorite of all the Halo Top flavors.

Sunday morning came fast, even with the extra hour of sleep.  Tom was up early to head to school to meet with other coaches.  I got up at the same time and did some morning yoga, laundry, and took some pictures for an upcoming post this week.  And it just wouldn’t be the weekend without my usual sunny crispy eggs for lunch.  Along with a salad I made with the pizza Saturday night with arugula, hot peppers, asparagus, sunflower seeds, nutritional yeast, and a lemon vinaigrette.

It was another pretty dreary day so I enjoyed some time on the couch reading Big Little Lies  before starting some meal prep and dinner.  We had leftover BBQ chicken from the previous weekend I had froze.  Along side with some roasted potatoes and broccolini.

Then I made Peanut Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies again for dessert because they were amazing the first time.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

And that wraps up the weekend.  I’ll be back later this week with some great self care activities, but be sure to follow along with all things food and fitness on Instagram.  Here’s a what we’re having for dinner each night.  Have a great week!

Monday: Banza Pesto with a Avocado Pesto

Tuesday:  Crockpot Chicken Tacos with Homemade Taco Seasoning

Wednesday:  Breakfast for dinner

Thursday: Leftovers

Friday: Game Night, I’m receiving an order from Freshly, so I’ll warm up one of these meals when I get home.

It sounds like your weekend was an awesome mix of relaxing, treats, healthy food and work! Could you share your homemade taco seasoning recipe?! I’ve always bought my taco seasoning and never thought to make it myself.

Ahhh those cookies look amazing; saving the recipe! La Colombe is my love, and poke bowls are incredible (which reminds me, I haven’t had one in ages because I didn’t know of any good ones in DC!)

Sausage, green pepper, onion, and mushrooms is one of my all-time favorite pizza topping combo! Now I want pizza…

I had poke for the first time a few months ago. I quite liked it though the choice of toppings wasn’t as broad as yours. This was also the first time I tried raw tune. I am kinda obsessed with it since 🙂
    The pizza looks amazing!

Yes raw tuna is amazing and definitely my favorite. I love poke so much more than sushi, just because it’s tastier and easier to eat.

I don’t know what I want more, the Poke bowl or the cookies. They’re both beautiful in my eyes.

What did you think of the Fly Wheel class is comparison to Soul Cycle?

Good luck Tom’s football team. 🙂

Thanks Meghan! And I’ve only done one Soul Cycle class, I like that Flywheel is on class pass and is more competitive. The one soul cycle class I took was more mind & body. But I love almost any spin class with good music and instructor.

How are you liking Big Little Lies? Have you watched the TV show?
And I need to try that flavor of Halo Top!

I’m really liking the book, but I haven’t watched any of the TV show. I think I will though once I finish it. And Halo came out with so many new flavors I want to try!

We had a homemade pizza + college football night last weekend too! Those are my favorite kind of low-key weekend nights. And your workout + lunch date with your sister is my kind of girls’ day too – good eats & sweat sessions! 🙂

Dying to know where you found that halo top! I’m definitely not as far west as you, but I cannot find any of the new flavors between Baltimore/Annapolis or Columbia! I make my way to Germantown here and there though so I may have to hunt when I’m that way! haha.

WHAT that’s crazy I feel like we never have anything in the suburbs. It was the LAST candy bar flavor left at Safeway. I know they carry Halo Top in Target and most grocery stores now. Good luck on the hunt!

Look at all of those delicious eats! I love the little flower-shaped purple things in the poke bowl. 🙂 Happy Tuesday!

They’re so cute right! I’m pretty sure they’re just pickled beets or something, I just add them because they’re pretty lol.
