Just like that it’s Monday and we’re at the start of a new week. Seriously where does the weekend time go? I actually woke up Friday to an alert for an unexpected day off due to the high winds that was affecting the whole east coast. I was excited for a little sleep in, but the winds did sure sound creepy. Luckily we didn’t lose power but several friends did. Hoping this week is back to normal and mother nature can give us some sunny and warm March days.
The day off flew by, I did an arm workout, hung around on the couch watching morning TV, and did a few things around the house before I was hungry for lunch. I had my lunch prepped for work but got to eat it at home, a little ground turkey and cauliflower rice blend.
Later in the afternoon I had to visit two grocery stores before I found one that had power, thank you Mom’s Organic Market for using wind power, ironic right. When I got home from the store I used some ripe bananas to make a protein banana bread. Then decided to relax the rest of the night with my latest read I shared in last Friday Favorites Post. Tom was at a football clinic and home later so I just ate some not very exciting leftovers for dinner.
Saturday I was up early to meet my sister for a Flywheel class. A good spin is one of my favorite ways to start the day. After class we shopped a bit at Nordstrom Rack, I purchased this workout sweatshirt and a simple everyday pair of earrings.
Then we decided to lunch at Poke Papa, one of our faves. At Poke Papa you build your own poke bowl, poke is marinated raw ahi tuna and it’s so delicious. They have other proteins as well such as salmon, shrimp, etc, and so many different toppings and sauces.
I did a bowl with half black rice half greens, with poke and salmon, and then seaweed salad, cucumber, watermelon radishes, scallions, avocado, and sweet and spicy sauces for toppings. I love sushi but poke bowls have been my favorite lately.
With full bellies we walked back to my sisters place. I checked my steps later in the day and had a total of over 7 miles, love visiting the city and being able to walk everywhere!
Once I got back to southern MD the rest of Saturday flew by. We attended the girls Varsity Basketball playoff game at Tom’s high school in the evening and they won! Then came home for sandwiches and TV shows on the DVR before calling it a night.
Typical Sunday, a little sleep in followed by a yoga video. Then laundry, meal prep, baking, and relaxing the rest of the day.
Tom smoked chicken thighs dinner and I tried a different side, these Zucchini Tater Tots. And we had Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies for dessert. We kinda watched some of the Oscars, but I hadn’t seen any of the movies so I have a hard time really getting into it.

Monday: Maple Crusted Salmon with my Perfectly Roasted Veggies

Wednesday: Minestrone Soup
Thursday: Vegetable Frittata with Chicken Sausage
For breakfast this week I plan to make my Power Oatmeal or a Green Smoothie, sometimes both. And lunches will be a few leftovers from the freezer with salad or cauliflower rice.
