Need some meal and workout ideas? Here is my food and fitness week in review for the week of June 10th through June 16th 2019.  Be sure to read previous Food and Fitness Week in Review’s here and tell me in the comments below your favorite meal or workout from the week!

Friends it is officially almost summer!  Wahoo.  Here’s to hoping we can take advantage of having the summer off and have some fun even with a newborn.  Just like the previous week in review for dinners I have been coming up with easy meals or using meals I put in the freezer while pregnant to make life easy.  Babies realllyyyy don’t like the evening hours and I never know what I’m gonna get from her each day, ha!  So that means putting a dinner together is a struggle, plus I’m also always been starving I think because of breastfeeding.  Even more so since I started working out.

While I share dinner ideas here, be sure to head over and follow @sweetandstrongblog on Instagram where every Wednesday I’ll share a What I Ate Wednesday in my stories. That will be a full day of balanced eating.

Weekly Menu:

Monday: Barbacoa Tacos
Tuesday: Turkey Meatballs with Banza Pasta and Zucchini

Healthy Baked Turkey Meatballs with homemade marinara and zucchini noodles
Wednesday: Old Bay Fries with Crab Meat

Old Bay French Fries
Thursday: Brinner Bowls with Roasted Vegetables
Friday:  This Marinated Tofu Bowl I posted on Instagram

Meatless Monday Dinner Idea
Saturday: Yogurt Marinated Chicken Kabobsand garlic feta fries

Greek Yogurt Marinated Chicken Kabobs
Sunday: Smoked Brisket on the Traeger Grill, Cornbread, Mac and Cheese, and Broccoli Slaw for Fathers Day

Fathers Day Menu, Brisket, mac and cheese, cornbread, and slaw

And I forgot to take a picture but I made Maple Cinnamon Rolls for Tom as well.  We ate them for breakfast and dessert at night because they were SO good ;0

Weekly Workout Recap:

This was only my second week back into working out postpartum.  Trying to build my strength and endurance back up since having Audrina.  Even though I had a very active pregnancy I have definitely lost a lot of muscle and stuck with doing bodyweight and light weight exercises this week.  I attempted a light run/walk and wow running felt weird for the first few minutes and my abs were pretty sore the next day.  Trying to take it slow but definitely feel like I’m making progress.

I am also using Les Mills On Demand to stream workouts from home.  I first fell in love with the Les Mills programs taking them at my local gym and then became a BODYPUMP instructor.  They have a variety of workouts you could also do at home and something for everyone from strength, cardio, sports conditioning, dance, yoga.  This mama is making the most out of nap time by sweating it out while baby sleeps.  I would love for you to try the workouts also so  Click here for a FREE 21 day access to Les Mills On Demand and see why I’m loving them!

Monday:  30 minute BODYATTACK video on Les Mills On Demand
Tuesday: Took a BODYFLOW class at the gym, you can also stream these workouts on Les Mills On Demand
Wednesday: Bodyweight workout of squats, lunges, modified 4 min cardio interval, and pelvic floor exercises (hip bridges, toe taps, and heel slides)
Thursday: REST
Friday:  BODYPUMP video On Demand
Saturday: 30 minute run/walk on the treadmill
Sunday: Took a 1 mile walk

Questions of the Day:

What was your favorite meal or workout from last week?

Have you taken Les Mills Classes?

How did you celebrate Fathers Day?

Do you use weights when you do BodyPump at home?

Hi Julie. Yes I have a small barbell and weights. Sometimes I just use dumbbells though, super easy to modify. Let me know if you have any other questions 🙂

That meatball sauce looks salivating! It took me months post partum to get back into my workout routine.

Homemade sauce is delicious! Luckily I prepped those while pregnant because no time for homemade sauce now, lol. And postpartum fitness definitely is a journey….
