Hello friends and happy happy Friday! Any fun plans for the weekend? I’m subbing a few classes at the gym on Saturday then we just hope to spend the rest of the weekend watching football and eating delicious food. Lately during the week I’ve been trying to use some of my free time to write or come up with blog post ideas and hoping to be on a more consistent schedule for you all soon 🙂 Today I’m sharing better beauty products and why I decided to become a Beautycounter consultant, along with my latest Instagram post themes, and other Friday Favorites.
Better Beauty Products
For the last several years I have been very conscious about what I put in my body when it comes to food. But it wasn’t until I was pregnant with Audrina that I started realizing the products we use ON our body can cause some serious health concerns as well. I didn’t want anything I was using to affect her while she was in my belly or now as I raise my little girl, so I gradually started changing out one beauty product at a time.
It would be nearly impossible to switch everything at once, so when I ran out of my drug store body wash, face wash, make-up, etc I would just search for cleaner options. But searching for clean beauty was extremely overwhelming. You can buy some better products online and at places like Target that claim to be ‘clean’, but not really understanding beauty ingredients and with no regulations from the government on what brands can say, I felt completely lost.
Then a friend introduced me to Beautycounter skin care and make-up. The brand bans over 1500 questionable ingredients and is fighting for stricter beauty regulations so you know they are making cleaner products. I started with just using the charcoal cleansing bar on my face a few times a week and then tried the tint skin foundation, the lip gloss in several shades, and blush and fell in love with the brand. I felt better about the products I was using for myself and my baby girl.
Beautycounter recently came out with a Countertime Collection that I have been loving. I told myself back when I turned 30 that I wanted to take better care of my skin to help the aging process, but was very worried about ingredients on most anti-aging products. Well the Countertime Collection uses a plant-based version of retinol to help skin stay safe and age well. The fact that is was also EWG verified had me convinced THIS was the line I needed to start using.
Since starting the collection back in September I have seen such a difference in my skin, especially for being postpartum and a tired momma since returning to work. So when a friend talked to me about being a consultant it was a no-brainer. I love and use so many of the products, so why not share what I learned about clean beauty with everyone else.
I would love to help you find safer beauty products you love through Beautycounter, so please drop your email here so I can get in contact with you and let you know about the latest promo deals. You can start yourself by taking this Skin Care Quiz or browsing the safer products on my personal site here. I hope you love them as much as I do and here’s to #betterbeauty.
Anyways, if anyone of you is also interested in clean beauty products and is involved in making them, all the more good. There are many ways, by which you can reach the customers and supply your clean beauty products. For instance, you can check out 5 ways to make your beauty products leap off the shelves, if you want to more. #Happy selling
The Instagram algorithm is always changing, I feel like I see the posts of the same accounts ALL the time. So just wanted to remind you to go to my profile @sweetandstrongblog and turn on post notifications when you click under ‘following’ if you want to see my latest food, fitness, baby, and now beauty posts. Your love and comments on my posts are much appreciated for the quality content I try to deliver so I Thank You 🙂
I’ve also been trying out a few themes to see what you like such as this Recipe Monday Post, where I shared my favorite way to cook any kind of meatball that I learned from The Meatball Shop Cookbook. And I always love the tradition of What I Ate Wednesday Posts on Instagram or the here on blog, which is food diary of everything I ate in a day.
Any other post themes throughout the week you’d like to see? Of course you can also follow my stories for real time updates.
Latest Dessert Favorites
A few weeks ago I shared Six Quick and Easy Dinner Ideas for the Busy Work Week because lets face it with being back at work, teaching a few group fitness classes at night, and caring for a six month old, time is limited! Those recipes can be made in under 30 minutes and require little prep work.
On the weekends I have been enjoying spending most of the day Saturday in the kitchen cooking and baking. Since this blog is all about balance eat those healthy recipes then check out our latest dessert favorites; Peanut Butter Bars, Pumpkin Bread from Sally’s Cookbook, and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies (slowly making my way through the Sallys Baking Addiction Website). Tom and I are also still in summer mode (or pregnancy craving mode myself) and wanting ice cream on everythinggggg. It’s our little weekend tradition, dessert and football when Audrina is asleep for the night and I’ve been loving it!
That’s it for today. Hope you have a great weekend and be sure to check back next week as my goal is for weekly posts here on the blog and daily on Instagram.
